Fortitude and Courage…NOW More than Ever.
These are challenging times we live in. And yet, much of the fear and anxiety we experience as we go through life comes from the inside – not the outside. It’s fueled by negative self-talk, which focuses on comparing ourselves to others, and how we perceive our limitations. This, of course, is rooted in our own pride, and the thought of failing undermines our fortitude…our ability to persevere in the face of difficulty. It becomes paralyzing.
As Catholic leaders in business, Christ has called us to LEAD, not to seek the safety of non-engagement. We need to lose the anxiety and fear. We must be bold, audacious and daring in our leadership, especially in these challenging times. If we choose to NOT lead in our respective circles – someone else will.
Consider the words of St. Teresa of Calcutta: “God does not require that we be successful…only that we be faithful.”
